ISMS Operation Kids completed its 3rd mission in Benha, Egypt March of 2010.

Our 20-person team of dedicated health care professionals conducted the mission out of The Benha Children’s Hospital approximately 2 hours north of Cairo. Our team was able to complete over 70 complex and varied surgeries, ranging from Plastic, Orthopedic, General, and ENT surgeries.

Our Pediatric Hematologist/ Oncologist consulted and treated 12 pediatric hematology/oncology patients. This was all done in 7 days, needless to say our days were long and hard but well worth it.

The success of our mission was not only providing excellent medical/surgical care for children in need, but also educating the local doctors and nurses, knowing they will use this knowledge to improve their skills.

We worked together hand in hand and through this collaboration we became trusted colleagues and friends, bridging our cultural differences through medical care.

We also donated all remaining surgical/medical supplies and some equipment knowing this will be used to help children.
